Heres a little list of some of the things I'm thankful for...
1) First and most importantly, my family. I'll always be thankful for the closeness in this little Fausett home. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a lot of love!! We have all learned that when there is 3 sisters sharing 1 bathroom you should NEVER clean up the makeup, because chances are that someone will get it right back out in an hour. You can never have enough curling irons, blow driers, straighteners, mascara, ect. and NEVER enough of your own clothes because no matter what, you'll always want to wear someone else's. You ladies with sisters can relate, right?! (Oh, and a side note...THE LAUNDRY NEVER ENDS YOU GUYS, NEVER EVER!) Anyways, my sweet dad. How does he handle all of the girly madness around here? He seems to cope well with his little obsessions with, Volkswagens, dogs, doctor pepper in excess, and hanging out in the garage. I love these guys. Here is our most recent family picture. Taken by the amazingly talented, Lexa Pierson.
2) I am thankful for Traycen Dean Shamo. I've said it once, ill say it one hundred times. How does this guy even put up with all my madness? My scatter brained, overly exhausted, coffee addict, shopaholic, makes him let me tweeze his eyebrows, self. (I realize i made myself sound like a crazy person right there, but you guys....everything i said true.) He is an ANGEL. He never gets mad when i fall asleep EVERY single time we go to the movies, or when i make him turn around when were on the freeway halfway home from St. George just so i can get a grilled cheese from In N' Out Burger, or even when i try to pop his fingers so hard that they just might break (whoops.) I love him, i love him, i love him a lot. So now that you all think i am a crazy girlfriend, its whatever. I just wanted you guys to know i love him.
3) I am thankful for the opportunity i have to get an education. Taylor Andrews Academy of Hair Design and Esthetics, as cheesy as it sounds is seriously making my dreams come to a reality. I get to go to school 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, and learn more about what i LOVE. I know there will always be the people that say beauty school is just an easy way 2out. But its my passion you guys, let me do your makeup, let me wax your armpits (gross huh?;)), let me clear your acne, and make you feel good about yourself, and comfortable in your own skin. My parents help me out SO much with my schooling, i live at home, and they have helped me so much with FAFSFA and all my loans. Its a long road, but one day it will all pay off :)
4) I am thankful for good ol' Hurricane Utah. Oh my gosh you guys, i moved here in third grade and i thought this was seriously the weirdest place EVER. I was like, why is it so small, and so windy, and why do all these people know each other. But you guys, everyone adapts!!!! I love the small town, and i know so many people, and maybe i could live without the wind but still, its so great. No matter where life takes me, i like to think i'll always find my way back to this little town i get to call home.
5) I am thankful for music, and for the ability i have to use my voice, and to sing. Music, is totally an escape. Its magic, when you hear someone live, or listen to a song and you relate so much that it brings tears to your eyes. If you haven't had that happen to you before, i think you will. All you have to do is pay attention, and listen really. Singing brings me joy that i honestly can not explain, nobody has to be listening for it to bring a smile to my face. When i get in the car in the morning, i literally BLAST whatever song is my favorite at the time. (changes like almost everyday.) and its almost like my meditation. (i can't really meditate because I'm wayyyy too ADD for that, so screaming songs in my car usually works.) You guys should try it sometime.
6) I am thankful for our country. The United States of America and the freedom, and blessings we have that come with that. Girls State was SO important to me, and changed my life in so many ways. I am so thankful for the men and women who leave their family for months at a time to fight for our country. God bless the USA and never forget it. If you know someone who has fought for our country, or you see a veteran stop them and tell them thank you, shake their hand. It makes a difference, i promise.
okay those were all a little deep....Lets do some simpler things so i don't loose you.
7) You guys i am thankful for kind strangers, and random compliments. People who you don't even know, who see you and take an interest in you. People who make your day. I have seen a handful of clients ONE time who have changed my life in some way. Be the person that changes someones day, or even someones life.
8) I am thankful for beautiful places, the mountains, the ocean, the desert, even sycamore lane in the fall you guys!!! (hurricane people know sycamore lane) I am thankful for places so beautiful that they take your breath away.
9) I am thankful for River Rock Roasting Co. oh my gosh... that coffee shop is seriously my favorite place to be on ANY given morning. The view, the people, the COFFEE. Its like a time warp in that place, you go in and you may never come out. ;) Also shoutout to the workers there, who have seen me at my very worst at 6:30AM and still made my day.
10) This will be the last thing, sense i have basically written you guys a novel. So lets make it a good one. I am thankful for...home. Time spent at home, in my pajamas, on sunday mornings, with my family, drinking coffee, and watching christmas movies or sitting at the dinner table telling everyone who they would be if they were a disney character, or why we are thankful for them. But lets be real, sometimes home, is a person with a heartbeat. Home is Hurricane, home is grandma Jeanies house, home is taylor andrews, home is any given time you spend with someone that makes you feel special, and loved.
Wishing you all a happy thanksgiving, full of love at home.
Xo, Mak
