Thankful would be an understatement

So, you guys know...Im just now getting back into this blogging thing. Lots of people start at the beginning of November and post something that they're thankful for every day until Thanksgiving. BUT given the circumstances, i am going to post them all TODAY. So hopefully you readers have a little bit of time.

Heres a little list of some of the things I'm thankful for...

1) First and most importantly, my family. I'll always be thankful for the closeness in this little Fausett home. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a lot of love!! We have all learned that when there is 3 sisters sharing 1 bathroom you should NEVER clean up the makeup, because chances are that someone will get it right back out in an hour. You can never have enough curling irons, blow driers, straighteners, mascara, ect. and NEVER enough of your own clothes because no matter what, you'll always want to wear someone else's. You ladies with sisters can relate, right?! (Oh, and a side note...THE LAUNDRY NEVER ENDS YOU GUYS, NEVER EVER!) Anyways, my sweet dad. How does he handle all of the girly madness around here? He seems to cope well with his little obsessions with, Volkswagens, dogs, doctor pepper in excess, and hanging out in the garage. I love these guys. Here is our most recent family picture. Taken by the amazingly talented, Lexa Pierson.

2) I am thankful for Traycen Dean Shamo. I've said it once, ill say it one hundred times. How does this guy even put up with all my madness? My scatter brained, overly exhausted, coffee addict, shopaholic, makes him let me tweeze his eyebrows, self. (I realize i made myself sound like a crazy person right there, but you guys....everything i said true.) He is an ANGEL. He never gets mad when i fall asleep EVERY single time we go to the movies, or when i make him turn around when were on the freeway halfway home from St. George just so i can get a grilled cheese from In N' Out Burger, or even when i try to pop his fingers so hard that they just might break (whoops.) I love him, i love him, i love him a lot. So now that you all think i am a crazy girlfriend, its whatever. I just wanted you guys to know i love him.

3) I am thankful for the opportunity i have to get an education. Taylor Andrews Academy of Hair Design and Esthetics, as cheesy as it sounds is seriously making my dreams come to a reality. I get to go to school 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, and learn more about what i LOVE. I know there will always be the people that say beauty school is just an easy way 2out. But its my passion you guys, let me do your makeup, let me wax your armpits (gross huh?;)), let me clear your acne, and make you feel good about yourself, and comfortable in your own skin. My parents help me out SO much with my schooling, i live at home, and they have helped me so much with FAFSFA and all my loans. Its a long road, but one day it will all pay off :)

4) I am thankful for good ol' Hurricane Utah. Oh my gosh you guys, i moved here in third grade and i thought this was seriously the weirdest place EVER. I was like, why is it so small, and so windy, and why do all these people know each other. But you guys, everyone adapts!!!! I love the small town, and i know so many people, and maybe i could live without the wind but still, its so great. No matter where life takes me, i like to think i'll always find my way back to this little town i get to call home.

5) I am thankful for music, and for the ability i have to use my voice, and to sing. Music, is totally an escape. Its magic, when you hear someone live, or listen to a song and you relate so much that it brings tears to your eyes. If you haven't had that happen to you before, i think you will. All you have to do is pay attention, and listen really. Singing brings me joy that i honestly can not explain, nobody has to be listening for it to bring a smile to my face. When i get in the car in the morning, i literally BLAST whatever song is my favorite at the time. (changes like almost everyday.) and its almost like my meditation. (i can't really meditate because I'm wayyyy too ADD for that, so screaming songs in my car usually works.) You guys should try it sometime.

6) I am thankful for our country. The United States of America and the freedom, and blessings we have that come with that. Girls State was SO important to me, and changed my life in so many ways. I am so thankful for the men and women who leave their family for months at a time to fight for our country. God bless the USA and never forget it. If you know someone who has fought for our country, or you see a veteran stop them and tell them thank you, shake their hand. It makes a difference, i promise.

okay those were all a little deep....Lets do some simpler things so i don't loose you.

7) You guys i am thankful for kind strangers, and random compliments. People who you don't even know, who see you and take an interest in you. People who make your day. I have seen a handful of clients ONE time who have changed my life in some way. Be the person that changes someones day, or even someones life.

8) I am thankful for beautiful places, the mountains, the ocean, the desert, even sycamore lane in the fall you guys!!! (hurricane people know sycamore lane) I am thankful for places so beautiful that they take your breath away.

9) I am thankful for River Rock Roasting Co. oh my gosh... that coffee shop is seriously my favorite place to be on ANY given morning. The view, the people, the COFFEE. Its like a time warp in that place, you go in and you may never come out. ;) Also shoutout to the workers there, who have seen me at my very worst at 6:30AM and still made my day.

10) This will be the last thing, sense i have basically written you guys a novel. So lets make it a good one. I am thankful for...home. Time spent at home, in my pajamas, on sunday mornings, with my family, drinking coffee, and watching christmas movies or sitting at the dinner table telling everyone who they would be if they were a disney character, or why we are thankful for them. But lets be real, sometimes home, is a person with a heartbeat. Home is Hurricane, home is grandma Jeanies house, home is taylor andrews, home is any given time you spend with someone that makes you feel special, and loved.

Wishing you all a happy thanksgiving, full of love at home.

Xo, Mak

back at it.

Oh hi you guys.
I used to post on this blog literally years ago so consistently and it makes me so sad that i ever stopped. I have had family members and friends ask me about it, and I think that its time. TIME TO BLOG.

So lets just do a little catch up.
If you don't know, my name is Makaylee. I am eighteen years old, graduated from Hurricane High School. I am currently attending Taylor Andrews Academy of Hair Design and Esthetics, and I am studying ESTHETICS the definition of esthetics taken from google is "A set of principles concerned with the nature and appreciation of beauty, especially in art." Estheticians call themselves "Skin Care Professionals". At school everyday i learn about, skin science, diseases, chemistry and science of the skin, and so much more. Some of the treatments i perform include, facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, spray tans, makeup application, waxing, and more.
SO, I am saying that I can NOT do hair. For all of you peeps that have wondered or even asked I REALLY CANNOT DO IT.  I know absolutely nothing about hair. i can do a braid, that is ALL. But i do know some good people that do some really good hair. Kaycee Jade Glazier for all you Southern Utah peeps, and Jordyn Paige Jones for all you northerners.

Okay lets see what else, if you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you obviously know that i have the cutest boyfriend ever!!! (Traycen Dean Shamo, yes i am talking about you.) the common question after hearing that you have a boyfriend is "ohh so whens the wedding?" YOU GUYS. We are just babes. Little, not financially stable, college going, money wastin, adventure loving, little BABES. Who wouldn't be perfectly content with that? If anything in the future changes, you guys will be the first to know i am sure ;) but for now, you can stop wondering :)

At eighteen some of my favorite things EVER are:
doing peoples eyebrows.
doing peoples makeup.
really just making others feel pretty in general.
going to the coffee shop.
kissing my boyfriend.
spending quality time with my mom and sisters.
when my dad surprises me with gas in my car (speaking of being financially unstable right?)
eating bagels.
making videos.
planning vacations i that i cannot afford.
& lastly, buying CHRISTMAS PRESENTS (oh my gosh you guys, don't even get me started. i am the person that plays christmas music the day after thanksgiving okay.)

Hmm...that seems like the most of it you guys. I go to school, come home, see my family, and my boyfriend and always find something to overwhelm myself with. (As if i wasn't busy enough, i decided to start blogging again. hahah) I hope to fill this blog with my life stories, experiences, the occasional beauty tip, and just plain cuteness.

Lastly, i want to dedicate this post to my dear friend (Sister) Jessica Nicole Langston. Jessica ALWAYS was making sure i blogged every week, and if nobody in the world read it, i knew that she did. Jess gets home from her mission this month and so i wanted to make sure i didn't disappoint. I LOVE YOU JESS. Welcome home (:

Xo, Mak
    •  heres that cute boyfriend i was talking about.
       and here is a picture that HE took of me. He did good right?
      And then here i am again, just for kicks and giggles.

life.

so, I have been thinking hard about something to blog about this week. {i have a million things I could talk about but it's sometimes hard to put all my thoughts into words}
so anyways, I finally found something.

life. it has this really scary way of being absolutely unpredictable. so as you read this, think of all the things in your life that are 100% predictable and be thankful for them. consistency is a blessing in disguise. sometimes we get so used to the norm, the expected that we loose track of how much it means to us & we don't think about how weird it would be without those consistencies in our lives.

a list of consitiancies in my life:
-every other morning for over half of the year I KNOW that I will be waking up at 5:30 to go to cheer practice. {when I graduate and move on from the part of my life, adjusting will be really hard & I know it will be a big trial.}
-5 days a week for the past 11-12 years of my life I have had to wake up in the morning and get ready for school. difficult but let's be real, we don't have a choice. {when high school is over it will be a really difficult thing to adjust to, & I already know it.}
-every single ingle night of my life I come home and I get in my bed to rest my soul. {this is something that EVERYONE can relate to. & something we should all be grateful for.}
-every morning when I wake up, I see my family. my little sisters, mom & dad. {I know that when I move out, this will be one of the hardest things to adjust to.}
-I know that almost every single Friday of my high school career I will have a job, to cheer on the Hurricane Tigers. {I can't imagine not doing this, it is something that continues to put a smile on my face.}

these are just a few that I can think of for now, things that never seem to change. {at least not now.} and I honestly CAN NOT imagine my life without these things. these are things that make me happy, and have shaped me to the person I am. now on to people, I was gonna add them up there^ but people aren't things and they deserve their very own list.

a list of consistent people in my life:
-mom. my mom has been there obviously since day one. and for reals I can't put into words how much I love that lady. she is my best best best friend. she is HILARIOUS and she always understands me. anybody who knows her can probably testify to these things as well. she is the most amazing person I have ever met in my life. she never let's me down, and she continues to be the best mom she can be. she is consistent.

-dad {step dad-but really dad dad.} he has been in my life since I can even remember. he is always there for me, teaching me new things(how to ride a bike, how to ride a skateboard, TRYING to teach me math, teaching me to be responsible, and even how to turn on the defrost in my car.) he never ever ever has let me down and he means the world to me. also he is the hardest worker I have ever met, he sacrifices so much for our family. and he can fix ANYTHING. he is consistent.

-jacey. this little miss has been around since I was 5, and she has been putting a smile on my face since day one. she has the sweetest soul, and reminds me to be sensitive. now that she is getting older {11} she likes to talk about more grown up teenie bopper kinda stuff. she is sweet and she is the person I will call if I ever need help eating an entire pizza {we actually just did this.} she is consistent.

-oaklie. my little oak town has been around since I was 8 and she has my heart. she is the funniest, sweetest, most outgoing little girl I know. if you want a good laugh just have a full conversation with this little one. she may only be 8 years old but she can make me happier than lots. she is consistent.

I decided just to do my immediate family for this one cause really I could go on for days. but I just want you all to remember to be thankful for everyone\\everything in your life that is consistent. what would our lives be without consistency? of course unplanned adventures and memories are amazing. {but that's not what this post was about obviously.} so take the good ways with the bad, and just enjoy yourself. also go hug everybody that has and will continue to be consistent in your life.
happy Sunday everyone :')

1.01.2014

twenty fourteen.

needless to say I have been slacking on this whole blogging job. but no worries, one of my resolutions is to be better at this :') hahaha.
speaking of resolutions, take a sec and think of yours. personally I don't agree with the common saying "new year new me" no matter how much you decide to change your life, your style, your body. you will always be you! {at least one can hope} no matter what your eating habits are, you will always be yourself. no matter how big or small your body may be, your heart will always stay the same size. resolutions are to improve yourself, be a better you but not a new you. I'm going to take a leap of faith and share my resolutions with you guys.
so now that you know my life, my goals HELP ME. & I encourage you to help yourself. I know resolutions may be a "fad" and you forget about them in a week but hey, we're all in this together. & I think we can do it.

okay so tangent time. aside from resolutions I hope you all partied hard and rang in the new year with your favorite people. besides being deathly sick I made the best of the night. I got to have a fun group date with some of my favorite people. we let off paper lanterns with resolutions tied to them, and took sparkler pictures and ended the night with a toast to the new year. here's to 2014 guys. make the BEST of it :)
oh and you can't forget my cute date^^

10.07.2013

I love you because

so number one I haven't been on here in so long cause life just keeps on flying by. I've been at home the past few days with a concussion, which is not fun AT ALL. but since I've been home I've just been thinkin about all the people I love and care about and why. so I'm gonna tell you guys okay.
I love people who:
-are huggers. seriously why would you not like hugs? they are so warm and yeah just make your heart feel good. seriously just hug it out people.
-will tickle your back. this is mostly why I love sera & Amberlee they are the BEST at this.
-I love people who hold hands. no not just boys, but people.(even though my hands are always sweaty.) Kaycee always holds my hand, and so does Alex and I love that about them :')
-I love people who appreciate things like my blog. cough cough mostly Jessica.
-I love people who are older than me and are like my older siblings...so Ashlin, Jessica, and a ton of other people I just can't think of :') hahha.
-I love people who like to eat. seriously who cares you only live once so eat!!
-I love people who wear big comfy sweatshirts. mostly cause I wanna hug them.
-I love people who smell good. girls & boys it really doesn't matter.
-I love people who can make me laugh. laughing is so important! last night my good friend Traycen came over cause Jordyn is in town and they love eachother and he made me laugh for the first time all day. (having a concussion laughing basically sucks)
-I love people who make me cry in a good way. like sometimes I hug people and just start crying because I love them a lot. probabaly the number one person I do this with is jayden.
-I love people who are always always there for me. so random but Kaden Langston has always been there for me to cry to. he may not know it, but I really appreciate the kid so much. he is one I my best friends.
-I love people who's families are always there for you. #1 family has to go to the bradshaws. their my go to :')
anyways I really have been so blessed with some amazing friends AND family. and sitting on my bum the past few days has really made me realize that.
